The City of Lancaster Fire Department's mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for all citizens and visitors from the adverse effects of natural and man-made emergencies. Our goal is to provide a protection program through a cost-efficient approach to emergency response, fire code application and public fire education.

Are there fire dues in Lancaster?

  • No, fire dues are not owed if you live in the Lancaster Fire District.  The Lancaster Fire District is a taxing entity.  
  • Fire dues only apply to those who live outside of the designated Lancaster Fire District. 
  • You can contact the Schuyler County Tax Collector 660/956-9500 to find out if you are in the Lancaster Fire District.
